Difficulty: Average
Time Required: varies
Here's How:
  1. Get a form from any customs office in France or from any French embassy or consulate. You can also file your report on any unofficial paper.

  2. Provide the following information:
    • Your name
    • Your nationality
    • Your address
    • Your birthplace and birthdate
    • Whether the currency or monetary instruments are being transported for a business or other third party.

  3. Write the following declaration in French: "Je déclare être porteur des sommes, titres ou valeurs énumérés ci-dessous, dont le montant total est égal ou supérieur à 7,600.00 Euros."

  4. Specify whether the sum is being exported or imported to France.

  5. Provide details on how the money or monetary instruments break down according to category.

  6. File the report in three copies. Sign and date each copy.

  7. File the report at the Customs Office at the port of entry (airports, train stations, etc.)
