When Should I Contact my Embassy?

Q: When should I contact or visit my embassy?

A: In certain situations, it is imperative that you contact and/or visit your embassy. These include:

  • Loss or theft of passport
  • Reporting a missing person or a death
  • Other personal emergencies

You may also wish to contact or visit your embassy to obtain travel safety advisories, assistance with long-term stays in Paris, and notarial services.

Note: It is always advised to register with your embassy ahead of your trip. This will make it easier for the embassy to locate you in case of an emergency.
