How to Travel From Frankfurt to Paris

Are you planning a trip from Frankfurt to Paris but are having trouble deciding whether it would make more sense to travel by plane, train or car? Frankfurt is a little under 300 miles from Paris, which makes taking the train or driving feasible options. Flying is certainly the most practical choice if you need to get to Paris as quickly as possible, but if you have a bit more time to enjoy, taking the train or renting a car can be an interesting and picturesque alternative mode of getting to Paris.

Flights

International carriers including Air France and Lufthansa and low-cost regional companies such as Air Berlin offer daily direct flights from Frankfurt to Paris, arriving at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport or Orly Airport.

Travel by Train

You can get from Frankfurt to Paris by train in as little as four hours via direct trains serving the Gare de l'Est station in Paris. Non-direct trains connect in Cologne, Mannheim, Brussels or other cities to high-speed TGV or Thalys trains, with total travel time spanning approximately 4.5 to 6 hours.

In smooth traffic conditions, it can take a little over five hours or more to get to Paris from Munich by car. Expect to pay somewhat hefty toll fees at several points throughout the trip.
