Parisians are collectively holding their breaths for the moment when they can once again occupy cafe terraces and soak up a little sun. But until then, Paris in February brings some early reprieve from the winter gloom with events like Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year celebrations.
Meanwhile, on the cultural side, exhibits such as the ongoing tribute to the extraordinary Edith Piaf at the Museum of Letters and Manuscripts, and a fascinating show on Paris' archaeological history at the always-superb Musee Carnavalet, make spending an afternoon indoors a more exciting prospect. And as I always like to point out, February is also an ideal time to settle into a good Parisian cafe somewhere with that monstrous opus of a book you've always sworn you'd get around to reading.
