Interested in contemporary art and its rising stars? Looking for a small or major piece for a personal collection, or just interested in seeing what new ideas and techniques are brewing in modern art? I have just the show for you. The International Contemporary Art Fair, or FIAC, kicks off Thursday, October 24th and runs through October 27th at the Grand Palais. The 2013 edition will see 184 exhibiting galleries take the halls of the "palace" to display their most exciting works from over 3,100 contemporary artists. For amateur collectors or those of you who want to get familiar with who's who among living artists, the FIAC is a stimulating, if at times slightly overwhelming, way to jump in. Professional buyers brush shoulders with seasoned and first-time visitors, and you're certain to encounter works that you wouldn't see in more conventional exhibits.
The much-coveted Parisian Galleries' Night Out event, meanwhile, extends the spirit of the FIAC all around the city, and falls on the first night, October 24th, this year. To see a map showing the locations of participating galleries, visit this page.
