Parisians are collectively holding their breaths for the moment when they can once again occupy cafe terraces and soak up a little sun. But until then, Paris in February brings some early reprieve from the winter gloom with events like Valentine's Day.
Meanwhile, on the cultural side, major exhibits including the ongoing retrospective on Vincent Van Gogh's fascination with Japanese art at the Pinacotheque gallery and Michael Warner's captivating private collection at the Centre Pompidou make spending an afternoon indoors a more exciting prospect. And as I always like to point out, February in Paris is also an ideal time to settle into a cafe somewhere with that monstrous opus of a book you've always sworn you'd get around to reading.
