As usual, I'm always slightly loath to start talking about the winter holiday season when we're still only midway through the autumn. But since so many readers among you have been writing anxiously for updates on what will be happening in Paris for Christmas this year, I'm happy to oblige. Mark your calendars for the appearance of the cheerful, Alsatian-style wood lodges that will start popping up around the city next month, and take the opportunity to enjoy a cup of mulled wine or stock up on regional French specialties to take back for holiday gifts.
