Practically from its inception, the silver screen has painted Paris as the romantic city par excellence: movies have dreamed up now-famous couples and their oh-so-romantic wanderings through the streets of the city of light, from Leslie Caron and Fred Astaire to Jean-Paul Belmondo and Jean Seberg, to Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke.
