Paris in July
If you're visiting Paris in July, make sure to reserve time in your itinerary for summer events including Bastille Day and Paris Plage (Paris Beach). Parisians are beginning to leave the city en masse for the beaches of the Côte d'Azur and Normandy, declogging the streets and making Paris feel like a vacation town in its own right. You may also save a day for an indulgent picnic in one of the city's many stately parks and gardens. Just make sure the grass isn't off-limits (you'll see signs that say "pelouse en repos"-- literally, and rather improbably, "the lawn is taking a rest").
