Paris Cinema Le Forum des Images Reopens
After three intensive years of remodeling, one of Paris's favorite haunts for cinephiles has reopened. Le Forum des Images, located in Paris' massive Les Halles shopping center, was re-inaugurated December 5th with a significant revamp, including a new entry hall redesigned by architect Anouk Legendre, a renovated 500-seat auditorium, and trendy cafe-bar on the mezzanine level.
Because Le Forum des Images hosts retrospectives on important directors and periods in film history, in addition to popular festivals like the Paris Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, its reopening is good news for anyone who wants to take advantage of Paris's lively cinema scene. It also boasts one of France's largest publicly accessible film archives, consultable in the newly christened Francois Truffaut film library (a hommage to the French New Wave cinema director of the same name).
The Forum des Images is currently running a 150-movie retrospective on great films about New York City, featuring celluloid classics like Woody Allen's Annie Hall and Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window.
