Best Five-Star Hotels in Paris

Gotcha. Paris doesn't have any...yet. After years of cranky debate, the French hotel industry has finally convinced the government to allow for a fifth star in its official hotel rankings. Luxury hotels like the Plaza Athenée or the Four Seasons will obviously be thrilled to be able to classify themselves using similar standards as glitzy institutions in Dubai or New York, and guests may have an easier time distinguishing between that very comfortable, but hardly luxurious hotel and "la crème de la crème" accomodations. Expect to start seeing that fifth star somewhere in 2009.
