Dalai Lama in Paris
The Dalai Lama, Tibet's exiled spiritual leader, arrived in Paris Monday to meet with Franco-Tibetan groups. He has not been invited to meet with French president Nicolas Sarkozy, who has been under scrutiny lately for his handling of diplomacy with China in the midst of the Summer Olympic Games there. Carla Bruni, France's new first lady, paparazzi queen and folk singer, however, is slated to attend a ceremony at a Paris Buddhist temple Tuesday in honor of the Nobel Peace Prize-winner.
