Eiffel Tower Voted "Most Disappointing" Attraction by British Visitors
When Gustave Eiffel unveiled his quirky, ultra-controversial iron tower at the 1889 World Exposition in Paris, he could have never anticipated that his brainchild would become an icon of the city of light. He also would have had a hard time imagining that it would one day be rated the world's most "disappointing" tourist site by British neighbors. But in a recent survey conducted by Virgin Travel Insurance, nearly 25% of visitors to the Eiffel Tower from across the channel come away less than impressed.
According to the same survey, Da Vinci's Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum in Paris is the second-most disappointing global attraction.

Not only is Paris NOT disappointing, it gets better each time I visit. A glimpse of the Eiffel Tower lit up at night is a lovely backdrop to the city, but honestly, the City of Light is such a magnificent place to explore that to pick on the Eiffel Tower for being “disappointing” just seems daft.
