Nostalgic Nightlife Scene at the Divan du Monde
When 19th century French painter and eccentric socialite Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec wasn't hanging around the nearby Moulin Rouge, he was livening up the Paris night at Montmartre's famous lounge Le Divan Japonais. Rebaptized as Le Divan du Monde, this favorite bohemian haunt is still one of Paris' coolest places to lounge, dance, or soak up a concert. Revamped for the 21st century, with elegant red divans and decorative elements reminiscent of a Tim Burton movie, the Belle Epoque Montmartre spirit is somehow still alive and well here.
