After three years of intensive restoration, the elegant hall of mirrors (galerie des glaces) has reopened at the Château de Versailles. The chateau's most revered hall was created under Louis XIV in 1678 and features 357 mirrors, creating a striking sense of spaciousness and perspective.
The 12-million Euro revamping of the galerie des glaces involved thoroughly polishing bronze, marble, and glass elements, replacing mirrors, and cleaning paintings by Charles le Brun.
