If you've got a taste for spicy, pungent cuisine, sampling North African cooking from countries like Morocco and Tunisia should definitely be on your list during a trip to Paris. No desert heat is to be found here, but the city is one of the world's best spots for authentic North African cuisine.

  • L'homme Bleu specializes in Moroccan Berber cooking and is one of the city's finest North African restaurants. Located in Northeastern Paris, the restaurant offers aromatic and beautifully presented traditional dishes like couscous and tagine. Those with a sweet tooth will not be disappointed either: authentic North African pastries are supplied here by the world-famous Paris bakery, La Bague de Kenza.

  • Chez Omar is another well-known spot for delicious and reasonably-priced North African cooking. The fare is widely recognized as top-rate, the service is warm, and, juicily enough, Chez Omar is a favorite among jetsetters and celebrities such as filmmaker Sophia Coppola.
